Make-A-Wish comes to Naaman’s house

It’s time we let you in on a little secret… Naaman was granted a wish! SeaWorld and Disney’s Animal Kingdom for all the penguin and animal fun a three-year old can get.  Only his wish was postponed before we could even announce it.

No need to be sad (because he doesn’t even know about the wish-granting yet!) because Make-A-Wish ensured he and Nadine had a treat come right to their doorstep this week.  A parade of well-wishers, his buddy Cole, Meriden police, EMTs, Meriden firefighters – all in full siren mode down our street!  Check out the video here: MAW parade

There was a tiny mix-up and we weren’t sure what time they were coming, so we do apologize for anyone who would have loved to come to join the fun.  Nonetheless, the surprise made it even more special for Nadine and Naaman, who were ecstatic to skip naptime and run outside for a personal parade.

Afterward, the Meriden Police came back with five patrol cars, including the K-9 with the adorable police pup Rex. The kids got to play with Rex and try out everything in the patrol cars.

Naaman and Nadine have not stopped talking about it since.  Naaman thinks the officers drive race cars, and can’t be convinced otherwise.  Nadine had already decided she wants to be a nurse, but she now has also added she’d like to be a “nurse on the ambulance” (EMT). A million thanks to the officers, and the firefighter who brought out the whole hook and ladder truck, EMTs, and MAW volunteers and friends.  It means so much to us to be remembered and honored.   Thank you!

Please follow Make A Wish Connecticut on social media and see all of the great work they do. Stay home and stay healthy.

I’m off to work a double, Ma.
Getting geared up
